PRODUCT DETAILS

Purolyt was developed especially for growers to protect greenhouses, tools, propagators, inert substrates, hydroponic systems and nutrient solutions from all kinds of unwanted microorganisms and biofilms.

The game has changed: Purolyt opens up completely new possibilities for growing plants, because a clean environment allows growing even at high temperatures and humidity without pests. At last, it is possible to get the full potential out of plant genetics.

Application methods

For disinfecting surfaces in greenhouses and other agricultural uses, Purolyt can be applied with the following methods:

  • Spraying
  • Cold fogging
  • Wipe disinfection

To disinfect nutrient water solutions, Purolyt can be added directly. Since pathogens such as bacteria, fungi and viruses spread through irrigation water, clean, sterile water is essential.

Instructions

Water disinfection (e.g. water reservoirs, nutrient tanks)

  • For preventive use, add 5–10 ml of Purolyt per 10 L of water, directly into the water.
  • To treat an existing contamination, add 20–40 ml of Purolyt per 10 L of water, directly into the water.
  • Note: with water temperatures below 23 °C, apply once a week at the lower dose.
  • With water temperatures above 23 °C, apply twice a week at the higher dose.
  • If you use organic nutrients, enzymes or microorganisms in hydroponic systems, wait 2 hours after disinfecting the water before using them.

Air disinfection by spraying or fogging (e.g. greenhouses or propagators)

  • Prepare a 1:50 dilution (20 ml of Purolyt per 1 L of water).
  • Commercially available pressure sprayers are suitable for spraying.
  • Cold fogging gives the best results – especially for disinfecting room air.

Surface disinfection (e.g. channels, walls, equipment, tools, pots/containers, pipes or tubes)

  • Prepare a 1:50 dilution (20 ml of Purolyt per 1 L of water).
  • You can spray the mixture onto the surface or immerse parts with complex shapes.
  • Pipes and tubes can easily be flushed.
  • If the surface is visibly dirty, it should be cleaned (mechanically) before disinfection.
  • Make sure the surfaces are completely wetted!
  • Contact time depends on the degree of contamination: 3–6 minutes

Disinfecting inert substrates

  • Prepare a 1:100 dilution (10 ml of Purolyt per 1 L of water).
  • Remove as many old roots as possible.
  • Soak the substrate and let it stand for 24 hours.
  • Suitable for all types of inert substrates.

Important application notes

Any dilution prepared should be used as quickly as possible, no later than 48 hours after preparation. Store in a tightly closed container away from ultraviolet light.

Always use purified water for spraying/fogging (e.g. distilled, deionised or reverse-osmosis water).

We recommend commercial sprayers with a minimum pressure of 3 bar.

If plants are grown under artificial light, spraying/fogging should be done immediately before or during the photoperiod, but the grow lights must always be switched off.

Grow lights should stay off for 20 to 30 minutes after spraying. A 4-watt LED per 3 m² is enough to keep the plants in photoperiod for that time.

Fields of application

Preventive hygiene measures in plant growing considerably reduce the likelihood of infection and therefore the use of pesticides. At the same time, biocontrol becomes more likely to succeed.

Antimicrobial effect

Purolyt quickly and effectively destroys harmful bacteria, fungi, algae and viruses. Correct use creates a safe environment. It also effectively removes biofilms in water systems and prevents them from forming.

Active principle

Purolyt uses an active principle similar to the one the human body uses to fight bacteria and viruses:

When the immune system detects a virus, white blood cells are activated to produce hypochlorous acid (HOCl), which is also the active ingredient of Purolyt. HOCl is scientifically proven to have extremely effective disinfecting properties.

Advantages

  • Creates safe conditions for consistent, successful production.
  • You can create favourable climate conditions that help beneficial insects reproduce and practically prevent pests from breeding.
  • Losses can be minimised.
  • Labour costs are reduced and working time is saved.

More information

  • It leaves no questionable residues, since the active components react back into water and minerals.
  • Thanks to its mechanism, microorganisms do not develop resistance
  • No chemical additives such as surfactants, phosphates, alcohols, formaldehyde, ions, silver, fragrances or dyes.

Manufacture

It is made from water + salt + electricity in a resource-saving electrochemical process. Nothing else is needed!

Always read the label and product information before use
