PRODUCT DETAILS
The MW302 EC meter is a portable EC meter supplied with a probe on a 1-metre cable and a 9V battery, with automatic temperature compensation and 1-point manual calibration. The meter has a range of 0.0 to 10.0 mS/cm and an accuracy of 0.1 mS/cm.
Operation
The meter is delivered complete, with a 9V battery.
- Open the battery compartment cover
- Insert the battery observing the correct polarity
- Dip the head of the EC / TDS lance into the liquid provided (4 cm)
- Preferably use a plastic container to avoid EMC interference
- Switch on the meter by pressing the ON / OFF button
- Before measuring, wait a few seconds for the sensor to pick up the ambient temperature
- After use, the meter should be switched off and the lance sensor cleaned and dried
- For better cleaning, you can use alcohol.
Calibration
- Clean the sensor with alcohol and let it dry
- Open a sachet of EC 1413 calibration liquid and immerse the sensor (make sure both metal poles are submerged)
- Wait a few seconds for the sensor to pick up the ambient temperature
- Adjust the reading using the screwdriver provided at the back of the meter until it shows 1.4 mS/cm
- The meter is calibrated and ready to measure
It is advisable to calibrate the meter at least once a month, or after a long period of non-use or after replacing the lance.
Replacing the battery
- When the battery is running out, the meter display shows "V"; from then on, the battery can only provide 50 hours of operation to the meter
- A weak battery gives random readings. It is recommended to change it
- The battery may only be changed in a safe (non-hazardous) location, fitting a 9V alkaline battery
- Switch off the meter and insert the battery in its compartment. Check that the poles are still in contact with the battery and refit the cover
