Phenolic Foam Box – 2 × 2 × 2.4 cm (8,550 plugs)

Phenolic foam sheets are a sterile substrate made from phenolic resin, free from fungi and bacteria, used mainly for rooting high-quality seedlings. Their main feature is ideal water retention and aeration for root development, ensuring hygienic seedling production.

The sheets come pre-drilled, and each cell measures 2.0 x 2.0 x 2.4 cm

Each box contains 38 sheets, each with 225 cells = 8,550 plants!

How to germinate in phenolic foam?

The procedure is as follows

• Place the sheet in a tray and rinse the foam under running water to remove any manufacturing residue
• Place 1 to 2 seeds per hole
• Leave the sheet in a shaded place and keep the foam moist with a hand sprayer until the first leaves appear (about 48 hours)
• Always keep the foam moist: if it dries out, it will not reabsorb water
• Once the 2nd leaf appears, which should happen in 7 to 10 days, the seedling can be moved to the nursery or pre-growth stage. Don’t leave them longer, because by then the plant has used up its reserves and will need nutrients.
